Mission is to help

I believe in things that make me ponder in that it produces questions that I’m curious about. Stepping right out of our comfort zones we usually seek help to aid whatever we feel inside and there are various outlets that can really assist us with this. Most commonly known, available in the digital platform, they’re non-profit organizations.

Before, I’m not very interested in this type of stuff. I just normally read this or hear this whenever an organization or company is introducing their group, explaining what they do, expanding their own visions, getting loud out there, whenever wherever their help is needed.

Years ago, I thought these are only all physical organizations settled in one particular place, giving outreach programs, creating drives and so other programs that support their objectives but this is not all that they can do. When I started blogging again in 2019, maybe 2 months with Mystoryplace. I came across an Instagram account.

It caught my attention because it’s handled, lead by Filipina woman who also represented the Philippines back in a beauty contest. At first, I’m not sure what it’s completely about, but when I started following their social media accounts. Later, did I realized I’m someone benefiting from their purpose. They are called Mental Health Matters PH.

In their Instagram bio, it’s stated, “self-care & self-love, your mental health is not to be taken for granted”. I was captured by the latter phrase. Because one time, I also read a message like this but with a different approach. So, I felt completely reminded that at this time, this is always gonna be true and super important. This realization was in 2019.

When the pandemic hits, that’s the time that I recall reading, self-care, and self-love again and that slaps my energy by being cued that it’s not always fulfilling just to be good to yourself. We can do better, we can always do better than we are already are. Good is okay but being better is so much more.

They shared one artwork that started “You don’t have to be good at something for it to be good for you”. I had a hard time pondering this statement at first. But later I came to realize it’s meaning. I don’t have to be good at making others happy for the sake of it. I have to be truly happy first before I can spread genuine happiness because making them pleased while hurting inside, opposing my beliefs, my principles will just make my actions fake and untrue to it’s a mission.

In other to be a spectrum of good and better vibes this non-profit organization, Mental Health Matters made me a better person, by them being one, a better organization open to help, assist and boost self-confidence. Growing and healing together with a vision for a better living, for a better world. ❤
